This is to be a place where all those interested in developing an accurate period Romani persona within the Society for Creative Anachronisms, Inc. (SCA). What we hope to do here is collect information and documentation to help someone new to a Romani persona to research and develop an accurate portrayal, negating the myths and stereotypes of the Romani people.
I began this site to be a starting point for all who are interested in Romani history before 1600, specifically targetting those who are in the SCA and would like to be a little more accurate as to how to portray a Romani from this time period. I hope that this site is helpful to all, and I do love feedback! So please, email me at webmaster@latchodrom.org, or join us at our online forum, latcho_drom via yahoogroups. And, if you have an article or documentation to add, please email the webmaster.
Our articles (to the left) are divided into groupings depending on topic. The Romani section, for example, is for articles devoted to European Gypsies, while the Domari are for gentles interested in persuing a Middle Eastern Gypsy persona. Where applicable, there is a bibliography included with the articles.
